For more than twenty years, Jaap Bressers has inspired audiences around the world. He has delivered more than 1,200 talks in over 30 countries, sold more than 70,000 copies of his books and earned over 750 five-star Google reviews.

At the age of 21, Jaap’s life took an unexpected turn. A diving accident left him with a high-level spinal cord injury, resulting in tetraplegia. After intensive rehabilitation, he returned to university and earned his degree in International Management. But instead of following the career path he had once imagined, Jaap chose a completely different path.

Jaap combines compelling personal stories with relevant business insights and well-timed humour. Rather than telling people what they should do, he invites them to discover what they can do—and how seemingly small choices can have a lasting impact.

His keynotes bring themes such as resilience, human connection, adaptability, ownership and human-centred leadership to life, inspiring stronger teamwork, greater well-being and positive change.

While recovering in a Portuguese hospital, Jaap met Carlos, a nurse who made him feel seen through one small, human gesture. To Carlos, it was simply part of his job. To Jaap, it made all the difference.
That moment became the inspiration for Carlos Moments: the idea that something which feels small and completely natural to you can be incredibly valuable to someone else.

This message runs through Jaap’s keynotes, books and wider work: making a meaningful difference does not always require a grand gesture. Sometimes, it begins with simply noticing what you can do.

As a social entrepreneur, Jaap puts this belief into practice through his foundation, helping even more people discover how small gestures can make a big difference.

From the frontline to the boardroom, Jaap knows how to connect with every audience. His keynotes do more than uplift audiences in the moment. They offer fresh perspectives and practical insights that continue to make a difference long after the event.
